FOUNDER

This was an amazing project to have been a part of. Joining the project in mid 1996 to work with the sub-contractor responsible for fabrication, painting and erection of roof steelwork on the new terminal building. The role involved keeping contemporaneous records at all stages of the roof steelwork fabrication, shipment, assembly, welding, painting and erection on site. There were key delays associated with the other subcontractor works responsible for preparing the main concrete structure and he worked on aspects of these claims. Other duties included managing the contra charge account with the main contractor which had to do mainly with the preparation of temporary roads, compaction and building of crane mats to facilitate the timely erection of the roof modules. Initially appointed on the project for 12 months and was able to celebrate with the team when the last roof module No 166 was lifted into place.
Following completion of the roof a further appointment followed in 1999 – 2000 to review and agree a number of outstanding final accounts for the Hong Kong Airport Authority. The accounts included disputed variations, claims for extension of time and loss and expense.
